Taste of Atlanta gives back to the Atlanta community in several ways and makes donations to well-established and worthy non-profit organizations

Atlanta's Table

As an invaluable resource to our community since 1987, Atlanta's Table collects prepared perishable food from our local hospitality industry and delivers to over 40 Metro Atlanta nonprofit, hunger-relief agencies daily. This groundbreaking program was one of the first projects of its kind. Its success promotes similar development in cities nationwide through America's Second Harvest, the Nation's Food Bank Network. Atlanta's Table will be reclaiming food at the festival and distributing it to those in need.

Hospitality Education Foundation of Georgia (HEFG)

HEFG coordinates the 3rd largest ProStart ® culinary program in the country with more than 85 participating high schools throughout Georgia. HEFG bridges the gap between high schools and the hospitality industry by providing teacher resources, scholarship opportunities, hospitality education and industry partnerships.

Georgia Restaurant Association

As the voice of Georgia's restaurant industry, the Georgia Restaurant Association's mission is to serve the needs of Georgia's restaurant and foodservice industries by providing value for its members in four key cornerstones: political advocacy, professional development, business development and community involvement.

The GRA represents an industry comprising over 17,000 foodservice and drinking places in the state of Georgia with total sales in excess of $13.4 billion and provides more jobs (382,500) than any other non-government employer in the state. Members can count on the GRA to advocate for favorable laws and regulations, to promote the industry, and to provide a network to meet their peers. For more information, visit www.garestaurants.org

The GRA recently launched a scholarship initiative and is uniquely positioned within Georgia's restaurant community to bring together today's industry leaders and those desiring a future in the restaurant industry. The GRA scholarship fund is the recipient of the net proceeds from the 2008 Taste of Atlanta silent auction.
